The Sofa Sessions

Get up close and personal with three young up-and-coming Singaporean artists in an intimate acoustic setting. There's singer-songwriter and guitarist Deborah Lee, Melissa Liaw and the exciting young jazz soul outfit Black Pepper. Gig starts at 8pm. Admission is free!

These girls will surely steal your heart and soul with their inspiring solo performances on the piano and acoustic guitar. Presented by Music For Good & The Arts House. Starts at 8pm. Check out our most promising young acts at Noise @ *scape featuring Noise Singapore 2005 participants - Auburn's Epiphany, Stentorian, X'scapists, Da T Squad and Comic Strip. There's something for everyone - from rock-pop, hip-hop, emo-punk to ska. The Lime magazine flea market is happening from noon till 7pm at *scape (next to Orchard Cineleisure) plus there's also the SYF 2006 Mega Mural @ *scape event. Students from approximately 20 schools and pre-schools will be engaged in the mural painting from 8:30am till 6pm. Goodie bags to be won too! The gig will happen from 4:30pm - 7pm.

Music Apprenticeship Programme @ Noise Singapore

Music For Good is running the Music Apprenticeship Programme for Noise Singapore 2006, an arts festival for young people, by young people. Our music mentors - Joe Ng (ex-Padres), Nick Chan (Astreal, MUON), Desmond Goh (Electrico, TypeWriter), Imran Ajmain (r&b hip hop artist and founder of Beats-Society), Patrick Chng (The Oddfellows, TypeWriter), Bob Tan and Varian Lim (E.P.I.C) - will provide guidance to the young bands/musicians for 7 weeks. President's Challenge 2006 Launch

Music For Good co-organised the performance for the President's Challenge 2006 launch with AthenArts at the Jubilee Hall on Friday, May 26. This is our third involvement in as many years and we were excited and glad to collaborate with AthenArts on a mini musical titled Born To Sing. A big thank you to Artistic Director Iris Koh from AthenArts, lighting designer Thio Lay Hoon, emcee Prashant, Raffles Girls’ School, Westgrove Primary School, CHIJ Bukit Timah, Rosemary Chng & Associates, our wonderful stage crew and all other volunteers for making this event such a glorious spectacle.

Thanks to everyone who turned up and made Broadcast such a huge success! We had an amazing 13-hour event that celebrated music made in Singapore (and two Malaysian bands).The charity auction for a dinner date with Linda Ong (Lunarin) or Ginette Chittick (Astreal) was a riot! Migrant Voices
March 3-5, 2006 @ Esplanade Outdoor Stage

Migrant Voices, an initiative to bring together the musical talents of our friends from overseas who have put in their heart and soul to the growth of Singapore society, aims to raise funds for migrant workers welfare organisations through a CD album. Many of these people have left their loved ones at home to work here hoping to provide a better life for them. Bringing them together, we hope to share an insight of their life through their songs. The CD will be launched at this weekend. Singapore bands are performing on Friday and Saturday while the migrant workers will perform on Sunday - Indonesian group Darul Arqam, Filipino group Tinig Pinoy and Thai band Singsaderd. Sitar maestro Ustad Sharafat Khan & Friends will also be performing. Admission is free.

The wonderful students of Raffles Girls School and 98.7FM organised a benefit concert called Rock For Good for Music For Good on Saturday, February 4 from 6pm till 10pm. The line-up: Electrico, Ronin, The Suns, West Grand Boulevard, Skyjuice and Crossbred. The concert sold out 1,000 tickets! A big Thank You to all the bands who performed and the incredible girls from RGS!
